Introducing: Mr. Roy Cotton-O'Brien - Guitar

Roy Cotton-O'Brien is a guitar instructor at Musica Academy Yamaha Music School. He has studied Guitar at the Mount Royal Conservatory for over 10 years with weekly lessons. He is fluent in many types and genres of guitar, including classical, electric and bass. Roy is the lead guitarist for a garage band and we play at local "battle of the bands" and different festivals whenever possible. He also has an interest in jazz music which occupies a lot of his time. Roy played trombone, guitar and bass guitar in the concert and jazz band. He also takes a jazz course in the summer which deepens his understanding of musical theory and how each instrument can interact.  Roy enjoys experimenting in many different genres of music; however, he most enjoys playing jazz, blues and rock.  Some of Roy's biggest influences are Randy Rhoads, Jimmy Hendrix and Eric Clapton.
