Introducing: Mr. Linh Nguyen - Piano
Linh Nguyen was born in Hanoi, Vietnam, where he received his first musical trainings at Hanoi Conservatory. At the age of 15 he received No.1 scholarship in a conservatory’s competition for further studies in Moscow conservatory, where he later in 1989 received the qualification of piano teacher, accompanist with highest marks. In the same year Linh was one of the only two accepted among foreign students (17 in all) for higher education in piano solo performance and pedagogy in Moscow conservatory known as Tchaikovsky’s conservatory. He studied with best professors from Vietnam, Russia, Germany, Poland and Finland such as Hoang My Ngo, Nhat Anh Trinh, Vinh Huong Hoang, T. Galitskaya and L. Rotshina, Z. Ignatieva, Mrs. Kawalla, T. Chmielewski, O. Krimmer and H. Sigfridsson to mention a few. Later in 2003 with the excellent marks Linh also specialized in solo piano performance and piano pedagogy in advanced studies in the Music Academy of Turku Polytechnic, Finland, where he also worked as a piano teacher until late 2009 when Linh and his family moved to Calgary.
Linh Nguyen has an over 20 years of teaching experience and is a dedicated pedagogue. A number of his students have been successful in both international and national competitions in Finland. Some of them have won prizes and recognitions in Paris 2003, Tallinn 2007, Oulu and Turku 2006, 2010. Many of them are now in the professional career. Linh Nguyen is a member of Finland’s Music Teachers’ Association (SMOL and Pianoaura) and ARMTA (Alberta’s Registered Music Teachers’ Association).
