Introducing:  Ms Johanna Kwan - Yamaha, Piano

Johanna has been playing piano since the age of 4 and has obtained her ARCT Performance diploma and Teachers diploma through the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music.  She also holds a bachelor of Social Work degree and is currently working at the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society running the youth program in schools. Johanna has been teaching piano for 10 years with students ranging from age 3 to adult.  She has been involved in Kiwanis festivals, concert band and jazz band playing percussion and trumpet. Johanna taught Kodaly at Schola Musica and is working towards attaining her Kodaly and Orff certifications. She is enthusiastic about teaching music and loves engaging her students in fun-filled learning. Her goal is to open a community-based music program for underprivileged children.  She has worked with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Calgary as well as done extensive volunteer work in the community.  Johanna enjoys playing ensemble music and has been active in a handbell choir for 6 years.
