 Group Lessons - STRUCTURED MUSIC EDUCATION SYSTEM FOR CHILDREN 

Designed to provide music enjoyment in the most positive learning environment, Yamaha group classes teach basic music knowledge through Sing, hear, Read and Play method in a group setting. Rhythm and musicianship skills are best learned in a group where students are motivated by their peers and have access to a full range of touch sensitive keys to developing the artistic ability. Yamaha group lessons encourage improvisation and creativity. Most importantly group lessons are lots of fun!

Why Group Lessons?

What is the Junior Original Concert or JOC?

The Junior Original Concert (JOC) is a performance which showcases the compositions of Yamaha Music students. Yamaha Music programs encourage all students to show their creativity through improvisations and compositions.

Over the years, JOC applications have sky-rocketed with more than 45,000 submissions each year!

What happens after the MUSICA ACADEMY JOC?

Students who choose to perform their compositions and are between the ages of 8-14 will have their performance videotaped. Once the video is edited, we will mail it to Yamaha Canada where the selection process will begin for the National Junior Originals Concert.
